Russell Wilson Will Donate $5000 Per Loss to the “Cute Puppy Animal Shelter”

If you were not watching the Broncos-Seahawks game on Monday night, you missed out on quite an event. Russell Wilson and his new team in orange and blue had every possible opportunity to win the game, and still managed to throw it away.

Wilson had his team within the opponent’s 5 yard line two times, and both times they managed to give the ball right back. It was a highly improbable and historic situation that aided in the Broncos’ eventual loss.

This is when fans began to question the decisions being made by Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett. It was obvious to everyone watching the game that they were calling the wrong plays all game. They would run on long yardage situations, refused to throw to one of their mid six foot wideouts for practically the entire first half, and what they did at the end of the game would shock even those who don’t know the game.

Denver was down one point with one minute left. It was fourth and five from Seattle’s 46 yard line, and Russell Wilson had the ball with 3 time outs. A rational person would call one of those time outs and call your best five yard play from the back of the book.

This is not what the Broncos did. No, they waited 40 seconds for the clock to go all the way down, called a time out, and attempted what would be the second longest field goal in NFL history.

I know what you’re all thinking- they couldn’t possibly have been trying to win this game. And you would be right. Before the game, Wilson pulled out his blackberry and made a vow to the “Cute Puppy Animal Shelter” that every time the Broncos lose this season, he would donate a whopping $5000.

It all makes sense now. The Broncos lost on purpose. I knew no one would willingly make such a horrific decision at the end of a game like that without an ulterior motive.

This is not unlike the last time he made a promise concerning the cute puppies. Peeled Sports was able to pull the story from our archives. Click here for more.
