AJ Hinch “Opts In” To The 2020 MLB Season

In the weeks since the MLB announced the 60 game season, quite a few players have been deciding whether or not they want to risk playing the season. So far notable opt-out’s include Dodgers pitcher; David Price, Braves Felix Hernandez and Nick Markakis, and it looks like soon the great Mike Trout will decline the invitation as his new baby comes into the world and gets immediately drafted by the Yankees.

But, with the news all these opt outs comes something unexpected. Recently fired Astros manager AJ Hinch has figured out how to opt back in. Up until, no one else was even aware that the contract included an opt in clause. We managed to get an interview with the shamed manager.

“This isn’t on the record right,” Hinch asked us while on the record. “All I had to do was convince one of those lawyers to include some language that invites ‘anyone who was employed by an MLB franchise in 2019’ to return in 2020. They were so focused on games and salary to even notice. This is my ticket back into the show. I also made reservations for Paris next year and I could really use some money to pay for it.”
