Just months after the General Manager made a big splash by trading for former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall; Chayka left the entire city of Phoenix in shock after his sudden resignation.
Chayka explained that he was at home watching the highly touted film, Blades of Glory, when Chazz Michael Michaels gave him the motivation for which he had been searching. Chayka also revealed that he had only accepted the GM position so he could remain close to the ice, where his true passion lies. He added that he does not care what anybody thinks, and he will do whatever it takes to make his dream a reality.
“I’ve done all I can for them,” Chayka told our reporters. “Now it’s time for me to do something for me. Next time you see me, there will be a gold medallion hanging from my neck.”
