JJ Watt Traded To Katz Deli For A Pastrami On Rye And 5th Round Pick

By The Chief

In a not that stunning move, Bill O’Brien has decided to further hinder his team’s ability to play football. It was first announced yesterday around lunchtime that O’Brien made the deal. Katz made a sandwich that would usually cost around $25 and sent it down to Houston in a USPS overnight package on their dime. We asked the owner of the popular Manhattan food establishment about his mindset when O’Brien called him up.

“When you’re offered a guy like Watt you don’t say no. We went back and forth on the price a little bit, but finally settled on a pastrami on rye and a fifth. I wanted to give up a turkey on wheat, but it was closing time and the negotiations had to end.”

We at Peeled Sports were incredibly curious as to how Katz Deli even got an NFL draft pick in the first place, so we dug a little deeper. Apparently, one day a few years ago while he was coaching the Jets, Rex Ryan was walking down Houston Street when he got a craving for a tuna salad sandwich. He had forgotten his wallet and offered to pay with a Jets fifth round pick in 2021.

“I think he assumed we’d forget that the pick was ours. I was just planning on drafting a kicker to help us around the deli, but JJ will definitely be way more helpful. The best thing about it is I was willing to go up to a reuben on white and a seventh. Bill O’Brien is not a great negotiator.”
