You know Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Justin Thomas. Players that have been touted as the greatest golfers in the world. The PGA has always done a good job of keeping their website up to date on the current world number 1 golfer, a spot that has been taken by thousands of players, and currently occupied by Dustin Johnson. The only issue is that they have never taken into account golfers who have not competed in an official PGA tournament, like North Korea premier Kim Jong Un.
The American premier Donald Trump has golfed with the Korean leader in the past. As a man who spends a lot of time playing golf himself, his opinion on other players should definitely be trusted. He said in 2018, “”You know that Kim Jon Ung is a great golfer. He would make Jack Nicklaus look like a beginner”. If you don’t know who Jack Nicklaus is, let me explain. He was a golfer from the late 20th century who absolutely dominated the greens. In his career he won 6 masters and a total of 18 major titles. He is well known as a top two golfer of all time with behind only Tiger Woods. So this is incredibly high praise coming from the leader of the free world. Imagine making the best players to ever grace a course look like a beginner. You’d have to be just about perfect.
Perfect is exactly the word to use to describe Kim’s golfing abilities. He can drive the ball with 100% accuracy, never missing the cup. He can also drive the ball upwards of 500 yards. His record is an 18, which up until a week ago was also his highest score. So when his score came back as a 19, it is understandable to imagine that his scorekeeper was a foreign enemy trying to take down the caliphate from the inside, so he had to go.
