Over forty years after George Lucas premiered the first of what feels like eight Star Wars movies, Bill Belichick is finally taking what he deserves. That was just an exaggeration. I know that there aren’t that many movies. What I do know however, is the striking resemblance that the main antagonist bears to longtime Patriots coach. It’s been a long time coming if you ask me. It was a straight up theft. They even hijacked his personality and a lot of his willingness to cheat. It clearly isn’t a coincidence that they’re both known to bend the rules of their respective systems. The emperor taps into the dark side of the force that is meant to be unused by the Jedi, while Belichick breaks the written rules of the NFL and is able to get away without a scratch on him. It couldn’t be any more obvious that this character was stolen.
Belichick claims that the timing is due to the uncertainty that the season will actually happen as planned. He says, “In the very likely scenario the season isn’t played, I need to get paid. I have a very lavish lifestyle to keep up with all my Honda Civics and blue sweatshirts. That stuff isn’t cheap. Honestly, this is a long time coming. He thought taking away the Patriot’s logo was enough for me to not notice? Georgy’s going down.”
The suit was filed yesterday and is expected to go to trial in September. If it moves at a good speed, Belichick should have his money by early February.
